Hanae Mori Associates, the Mitsui & Co owned subsidiary company and a licensed producer of Hanae Mori brand clothing, signed a license agreement with French wedding dress maker Cymbeline. The first collection already debuted at the Wedding Fear held in Barcelona in June 2009. At the moment Cymbeline is planning to start sales at more than 250 directly-managed stores and wedding dress boutiques all over the world. Moreover Cymbeline might soon become the second biggest wedding dress maker in the world. Recently it has opened its branch in the French place called Numero, well known for its high-quality lace manufacturing, thus establishing a good reputation for using fine materials.
It is the first time for Cymbeline to sign the license agreement for production of the dresses. Wedding dresses by Hanae Mori have a strong image of haute couture and all of them are made in France by Cymbeline. Expected average price of the dress is 1000 euro. The company plans to continue developing the American market which has been one of the biggest customers recently and also start sales in Japan.
Also the world known perfume maker CPI will soon launch the production of Hanae Mori licensed products. The president of Hanae Mori Associates Tsukada Takeshi admitted "Hanae Mori has an image of luxury prêt-a-porte in the USA and it is also well known for its haute couture collections in France. The new tie-up with famous foreign companies will bring the growth for the brand not only in Japan but in other countries as well.
