Mastermind Japan that established the brand in 1997 is quitting the brand and stopping taking the orders at the annual exhibitions. The brand will hold its last exhibition for Spring/Summer 2012 in Paris, and two other exhibitions in Japan only, where it will present the last collection for Spring/Summer 2013.
The company that has focused on manufacturing clothes and developing new materials by applying the latest technologies recently has started to face some contradictions. "We understood that while struggling to bring up new collection every half a year, we show nothing but just the technological evolution of the brand," says the creative designer of the brand Masaaki Honma. "When creating good products it is very difficult to follow the fashion schedule that changes every half a year. The main reason of taking a break at the moment is that we would like to keep advancing in new technologies and at the same time create new qualitative goods." The further directions of the brand are not clear yet, it may start creating new designs of the clothes or launch production of completely different products. "We are promising to do our best for the coming 5 seasons. By bringing the efforts of the company, factories, draper's and accessory manufacturers together it is very important for us to show the coolness of Japan to more of people in the world," the designer explained.
