Onward Kashiyama acquired the right of trademark of the American ladies brand TOCCA (other than TOCCA Beauty that produces goods like aroma candles, fragrances and etc.) and starts a new expansion strategy from the spring 2010.
Since 1996 the Onward Group Bus Stop has been importing and distributing the products from the USA, however, from the next year the company plans to expand TOCCA brand clothes and sundry goods designed in Japan while reducing the prices and attracting more customers.
In the coming spring and summer the company is planning to open 15 new shops including 4 currently existing shops mainly in the department stores and aiming the sales of 1.4 billionJPY (retail price) in the first year. Onward that also acquired the preferential negotiating rights in the Asian region "is planning to distribute the products in China and Korea in the near future."
Moreover, Onward will continue the cooperation with the Japanese designers, at the moment Ichiro Seta designs for the brand. To promote the TOCCA brand in the Japanese market the company will reduce the average prices for the goods, for example, a dress that previously cost average 43,000JPY will cost 28,000JPY and knitwear will cost just 15,000JPY ( 23,000JPY). The new shops inside the department stores approx. 100 square meters each will be closely cooperating with TOCCA USA and will be designed to create a new image of the brand. Also the TOCCA flagship store in Aoyama, Tokyo is expected to be renewed next spring.
