Recent JFW-JC Trade Fair of Fabrics and Textile Goods
On the 8th, Japan Textile Federation's chairman, in order to overcome the global economic crisis, acknowledged and pointed out to the administration, "From next year onward, the textile industry's business state will be up in the air if about double the budget for JFW(Japan Fashion Week from Tokyo), keeping in mind as well the budget regarding textile policies (concerning the year 2008), is not received. We would like to request your firm support of the activation of the textile industry."
In regards to the present condition of the textile industry, he pointed out: "Day-to-day business is quite difficult. Manufactures, which is central in textile supply chain aspects like weaving, knitting and dying, is in an especially dire situation. If manufacturing industries don't function, the entire industry will take severe damage."
As for the issues that JTF must deal with, he said: "In order to overcome this great economic slump, I request the cooperation of the industry to the government and the people, in addition to the enforcement of the circulation of money and surface-level tax system in the government's Economic Stimulus counter-plan."
