The joint exhibitions held in Paris in March have generally shown very good buyers attendance and comparing to two seasons before, the cheerful atmosphere of the exhibitions has been returning back. TRANOI, Atmosphère, Première Classe, The Box and other big exhibitions have shown rather stable attendance by the visitors, "however the customers purchasing style has greatly changed" (Armand Hadida, TR Director), "In order to avoid risks the buyers rush to the recognized brands" (Muriel Piaser, Fashion Director of French Federation of Prêt-à-porter) that creates some sense of crisis among other brands. Trade fairs Rendez-Vous, Workshop, Le Showroom "received many orders during the sessions" (Antoine Floch, Head of Rendez-Vous), "these are the niche trade shows and comparing to the big exhibitions the economical damage is small" (Sarah Ténot, Head of Workshop). "Since the exhibition is small, the exhibitors do not stress and the buyers can look for the brands thoroughly in a relaxed way," (Hortensia de Hutten, director of Le Showroom). Moreover, the exhibitors may calmly do the business negotiation with the existing customers".
Many exhibitors have notice that "the number of buyers who became strict against the prices has grown. There are also many Japanese companies that exhibit in January and offer the reasonable prices. From the aspect of delivery dates there is a tendency of faster order placements, and the number of exhibitions in January continue to grow. "Première Classe and Who's Next held this January were the best to date. The first session is becoming more effective," says Xavier Clergerie, the Director of both exhibitions, who also admits the changes. It might be just a temporary tendency, however, we have to admit that the attendance of exhibitions in March comparing to January has recently declined.
