YKK Fastening Products launches a new metallic-plastic zipper METALUXE designed for apparel industries where light-weight and premium-class fastening product are demanded.
Comparing to the plastic the metal zippers are heavier and could not be used with sheer and light materials as well as with thin fabrics. METALUXE (VISLON) is made from polyacetal resin and it gives an impression of real metal texture. The weight of a new zipper is two times less than a metal one. There are six colors of zipper elements (zipper teeth); the plastic part is covered with special scratch-resistant pigment that does not let the colors go bald. Giving shiny and glossy look of metal texture the plastic zippers could be used for various purposes. Also, it is possible to choose between metal and plastic sliders. The price of the new fastener is just 1.2 times higher comparing to the price of a usual VISLON zipper. At the moment there is only one size of the new zipper - number 5, however, since the company targets the apparel industries, from the next year it plans to release zipper number 8 with bolder elements designed for the bag makers and other industries where the strength and durability of the product are highly appreciated. In the coming 10 years the company plans to raise 100 million yen from the sales.
