Japan's major select shops are bulking up on black, leather, and racing jackets for their respective color, material, and garment orders for their '09~'10 Fall/Winter collections.
Senken Shimbun asked buyers from each shop.
The #1 trend themes are "military/aviator" and "'80s element". Many shops are especially focusing on jackets in all of these styles.
At the same time, capes and drop shoulder coats are also suddenly gaining popularity.
Volume-enhancing tops are being coordinated with skinny pants or leggings.
Leather is by far the #1 material, followed by fur and tweed in the #2 and #3 spots, respectively.
Black has uprooted grey as the hot color of the moment.
As for accessories, studded chain bags are up at the top, and leopard- and other animal-print patterns are also extremely popular, showing up on a wide variety of items.
