For the Fall/Winter '09-'10 season, the silhouette of mens' brand clothes is changing. With the demand for a more slender style, apparel manufacturers went for a tighter fit, but this year we're seeing a more relaxed, new form. English coat maker "Mackintosh" has put out a model somewhere between their old standard and the tightest silhouette possible, with an A-line silhouette and ample armholes. As for orders from retail shops, "This new style has become by far the most popular" for this year (Importer/retailer Yagi Tsusho Ltd.). American manufacturer "Individualized Shirts" - which gained popularity through the slim-fit models, is also putting out new models with more relaxed patterns for the Fall/Winter. Compared with the more slim type, garment width has been stretched 5cm, and the armholes 2-3cm. The fit around the chest remains the same, providing easy mobility and natural comfort. The trend toward a more relaxed silhouette is gaining ground with bottoms as well. With slim-fit patterns permeating the market, there's a high possibility that the next trend will shift from a sharp look to a more relaxed look.
